Degel Menashe and the Musicology Department of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have agreed to collaborate on a project of gathering and recording
traditional chants, songs, and music known to members of the B’nei Menashe community.
In 2017, with the generous assistance of the New Mexico Jewish Federation and its vice president, Sabra Minkus, a project was launched to interview and record elderly members of the B’nei Menashe community now living in Israel.
Our vocational training scholarship project supports young B'nei Menashe seeking to build careers for themselves. The project grants scholarships to pay for tuition or job-training opportunities.
Degel Menashe is currently funding twice-a-week classes in Judaism for elderly B’nei Menashe in the northern Israeli city of Afula, once again on a trial basis. If this experiment proves successful, we will seek to expand it.
